Abstract
Since the Prophet's (P.B.U.H.) death, many individuals have claimed the Imamate. Reports from the Infallibles (A.S.) identify signs of the true Imam, among which al-silah, the weaponry, is especially prominent. It comprises military implements that the Prophet entrusted to Imam Ali (A.S.), instructing him to pass them successively, according to the order of Imamate, to his descendants. Reliable reports state that possession of this weaponry marks the Imamate of its holder. This study explains the importance of al-silah as a sign of the rightful Imam and finally critiques the claims of an Imamate claimant who misused this sign.
