Abstract

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in the noble hadith “Only a believer loves you, and only a hypocrite hates you,” has made the love and enmity towards Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him, a criterion for distinguishing between a believer and a hypocrite. Given that this noble hadith indicates the Imamate of Imam Ali and holds special significance, it has received less attention and scrutiny from the general public. Therefore, this research, using the method of the late Allama Mir Hamid Hussain Hindi, which is a rigorous and scholarly approach, has proven the mutawatir and authentic nature of the hadith “Only a believer loves you, and only a hypocrite hates you.” It has established that this noble hadith, according to the accepted principles of all scholars, is mutawatir, authentic in its chain of transmission, and undoubtedly issued by the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, making it reliable for argumentation
