Abstract
For a long time, Sunnis, especially Wahhabis, have sought to promote the idea of appropriating the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) for their own benefit. They refer to narrations that claim the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) praised the caliphs. The approach of this paper is to investigate whether the Takfiri Wahhabi claim regarding the existence of praises from Amir al-Mu'minin (PBUH) for the caliphs is accurate or not. Among the distortions made by Wahhabis is the assertion that the fabricated praises of Amir al-Mu'minin (PBUH) for the caliphs indicate his obedience and affection towards them. The book "Al-Mukhtasar Min Kitab Al-Muwafaqa Bayn Ahl al-Bayt wa al-Sahaba" is one of the oldest sources cited by Wahhabis and Salafis in this regard. This research attempts to critically examine some of the narrations from this book in terms of their authenticity and chain of transmission, based on sources from Sunni scholars themselves. The findings of this study indicate that the narrations of Amir al-Mu'minin's (PBUH) praises for the caliphs are flawed and contain issues related to their authenticity and chain of transmission.
